LAMBSWOOL from Lang Yarns is a worsted yarn made from 100% virgin wool from Australian merino sheep, for knitting and crocheting jumpers, hats, scarves and other autumn and winter pieces. One ball weighs 50 g and has a length of approx. 150 m. Choose your colour from the options.

The wool comes from mulesing-free farming and is traceable back to the farm in eastern Australia. The yarn is produced in Italy. The entire supply chain is certified to the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS). According to Lang Yarns, the dyeing process and all further finishing steps are Cradle to Cradle Gold certified. So you know exactly where your yarn comes from and the standards it was made to.

Uses and tension

Worsted is a medium yarn weight. With 4.5–5 mm needles you work up faster than with fine sock yarn, and the fabric suits jumpers, cardigans, hats, scarves and accessories. The length of approx. 150 m per 50 g helps with planning quantities: divide the total number of metres in your pattern by 150 to see how many balls you need. The tension given on the ball band is 20 stitches × 27 rows over 10 × 10 cm. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide.

How much yarn do you need?

As a rough guide, a jumper takes about 500 g for a men's size M, about 400 g for a women's size M and about 300 g for a 10-year-old child. The actual amount depends on the design, stitch pattern and size. If in doubt, allow one extra ball and buy everything from the same dye lot so there are no colour differences.

Care

According to the manufacturer, wash LAMBSWOOL with a wool detergent and no fabric softener. Please also follow the care instructions on the ball band.
