Lang Yarns Super Soxx 4-ply – hard-wearing sock yarn in solid colours

Super Soxx 4-ply from Lang Yarns is a sock yarn for socks and small accessories. It is made of 75 % virgin wool and 25 % polyamide. According to the manufacturer, the wool is Corriedale. The polyamide content makes the stitches more hard-wearing, and the superwash finish makes the yarn machine washable and non-felting. Choose your colour from the options.

One ball weighs 100 g and has approx. 420 m, so you can plan the quantity for your project easily: according to the manufacturer, approx. 100 g is enough for socks in EU size 44.

Using Super Soxx 4-ply

A solid yarn shows textured patterns such as cables, rib or lace clearly and combines well with colourful printed yarns, for example for cuffs, heels and toes. Needles of 2.5–3.5 mm give you socks of standard thickness. You can also use this 4-ply yarn for smaller accessories such as wrist warmers, hats or scarves.

Knitting tips

Socks are best knitted on double-pointed needles or a short circular needle. For sizes above 44, long legs or knee socks, allow for an extra ball. If possible, buy the whole quantity from one dye lot so that both socks look the same. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide.
