Schachenmayr Bravo Quick & Easy – easy-care acrylic yarn for 5–6 mm needles
Bravo Quick & Easy by Schachenmayr is a knitting yarn made of 100 % acrylic for scarves, hats, jumpers and home accessories. On 5–6 mm needles you work up quickly, with a tension of 15 stitches and 20 rows over 10 × 10 cm. That also makes the yarn suitable for beginners.
One ball weighs 100 g and has a length of 165 m. You can use the length given in your pattern to plan the amount you need for your project. The yarn comes in a colour range of neutral shades, fashion colours and brighter tones. Choose your colour from the options.
What the yarn is suited to
Acrylic is hard-wearing and easy to care for. That suits items which are worn or washed often: hats, scarves, outdoor accessories, cushions and blankets. Because the yarn is knitted on thicker needles, larger pieces also knit up quickly. As a rough guide, allow about 150 g for a scarf, 50 g for a hat and around 500 g for a jumper. The actual quantity depends on the design and on how you knit.
Tension and care
What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. Buy the quantity for a project all at once if possible, so that the colour stays consistent. According to the manufacturer, care for the yarn as follows:
- Machine wash at 40 °C, gentle cycle
- Do not bleach
- Tumble dry at low temperature
- Do not iron
- Dry-clean for delicate textiles
