YKK Metal Zip 55 cm – Closed-End, for Jeans and Bags

The YKK metal zip RGKBC-56 is a closed-end zip with metal teeth and a length of 55 cm, intended for heavier fabrics such as denim and for bags. The chain is 5 mm wide and the tape 30 mm. Choose your colour from the options.

Closed-end means the bottom end is closed, so the zip cannot be pulled completely apart. For jackets that need to open fully, you need an open-ended zip. This one suits bags, cushions or garments with a fixed bottom end.

Sewing it in

Sew with a zip foot and a strong needle, for example a jeans needle. Do not sew over the metal teeth, as the needle may break or be deflected. Fix the zip in place beforehand with pins or clips so that the stiff tape does not slip while you sew.
