Victorinox Swiss Soldier's Knife 08 – Pocket Knife, 10 Functions

Victorinox Swiss Soldier's Knife 08 – large pocket knife with 10 functions

The Victorinox Swiss Soldier's Knife 08 (art. no. 0.8461.MWCH) is a large pocket knife with 10 functions for the workshop, garden, craft table and leisure. The large one-hand blade locks open and has a serrated edge along two thirds of its length. The non-slip two-component scales give you a firm grip even when you are working with force. The knife is made in Switzerland.

At 111 mm long and 131 g, it is larger than the small pocket knives in the range. In return, you have a saw, screwdriver, wire stripper and awl in one tool, for example when you want to shorten wood, strip wire or pierce holes while crafting.

Which tool for what?

The tools sit in the scales and fold out individually. According to the manufacturer, they include:

• Large blade with serrated edge: for rope, string, card and other fibrous materials
• Wood saw: for shortening branches and wooden battens
• Wire stripper: removes the insulation from wires, only use on de-energised cables
• Reamer/punch: for piercing and enlarging holes, for example in leather or wood
• Tin opener with 3 mm screwdriver
• Bottle opener, lockable, with 7 mm screwdriver
• Phillips screwdriver 1/2
• Key ring

Working safely

Hold the workpiece firmly on a surface and always guide the blade away from your body. The blade can be locked: before folding it away, release the lock and keep your fingers out of the way. When sawing and piercing, the non-slip handle keeps the knife steady, but you should still never work towards your hand.
