Pine cone silicone mould – wax candles and plaster casts

The Graine Créative pine cone silicone mould is a casting mould made of very soft silicone, used to cast candles in the shape of a pine cone. You can also cast plaster in it. The silicone is soft and flexible, so the finished piece comes out of the mould easily once set, without details breaking off.

The mould shows the structure of a pine cone in fine detail. As a candle, the cone suits autumn and winter decorations; as a plaster cast, it can be painted once dry or used as a table decoration.

Casting with the soft mould

Place the silicone mould on a level surface so that it does not tip or lose its shape while you fill it. For candles, melt the wax in a water bath and pour it in at no more than the temperature stated by the wax manufacturer. Let the candle cool completely before removing the mould. With plaster, wait until the cast has set through. Then peel the silicone back slowly from the edges. With fine structures, it is better to stretch the mould gently than to pull hard.

For wax and plaster only

The mould is intended for candle and casting compounds, not as a baking mould. Once you have used a mould for wax or plaster, do not use it for food again.
