Rayher Silicone Lotus Flower Candle Mould – Cast Candles in a Flower Shape
With the Rayher silicone lotus flower mould, you can cast candles in the shape of a lotus flower, Ø 5.5 cm and 5.5 cm high. The mould is extremely flexible and keeps its shape. Once the casting compound has set, you can peel it off easily. A metal wick holder is included.
As well as wax, you can use Raysin casting powder, creative concrete, creative soap or casting resin. This also lets you make decorative flowers, floating candles or small bowls. According to Rayher, the mould is frost-proof and heat-resistant from -40 °C to 240 °C. This applies to the mould, not to the finished candle.
Casting a lotus candle
Rinse the mould with water before casting. According to Rayher, no release agent is needed for creative concrete and Raysin. Insert the wick centrally using the wick holder and pour in the compound slowly. Wax often sinks slightly around the wick as it cools: simply top it up with a little more. Only remove the candle from the mould once the compound has set completely. Gently pull the soft mould away from the petals so that the tips do not break off. Water and a little washing-up liquid are enough for cleaning, so the mould can be used again. Once you have used a mould for wax, soap, concrete or resin, do not use it for food any more.
How much casting compound do you need?
Rayher gives these guide amounts for one filling:
- Wax: approx. 75 g
- Raysin casting powder 200: approx. 150 g
- Creative concrete: approx. 180 g
- Creative soap and casting resin are also possible
