Rayher natural silk beading thread 0.33 mm – extremely tear-resistant for necklaces and bead weaving
Rayher natural silk beading thread is a fine stringing thread, 0.33 mm thick, for all kinds of jewellery making. You can use it to string beads into necklaces and bracelets, and it can also be used for bead weaving. According to Rayher, the thread is extremely tear-resistant.
The spool holds 25 m. That is enough to make several pieces of jewellery one after another. The length needed per piece depends on the necklace length and the design.
Stringing beads
At 0.33 mm the thread is thin. Check beforehand that the thread will pass through the hole of your beads several times if you are tying a knot or making a loop at the clasp.
- Cut the thread generously longer than the finished piece of jewellery, so that you can work the knots and clasp securely.
- Tie a firm knot at the start, for example at a crimp bead or bead tip, and then thread the beads on one after another.
- Knots between the beads space them out along the necklace and stop all the beads from sliding off if the thread breaks.
- When bead weaving, pull the thread tight evenly so that the weaving does not become wavy.
