Glorex Slide Bolt Latch 20 × 13 mm – Screw-On Box Closure

The Glorex slide bolt is a screw-on latch for closing small caskets, boxes and tins. It measures 20 × 13 mm and is made of brass-plated iron. The pack contains 4 pieces, so you can fit several containers.

The latch is screwed onto the material and simply slides back and forth to open and close. This gives home-made wooden boxes or upcycled tins a closure that is easy to use.

Fitting the slide bolt

Hold the latch in place and mark the screw holes. On wood, pre-drill the holes with a thin drill bit so the wood does not split when you drive the screws in. Line the latch up so that it slides straight before you tighten the screws fully. Choose screws that are shorter than the thickness of the material, so the tips do not poke out on the inside.
