Which modeling clay suits your project

Plasticine stays soft and pliable and is good for repeated play and practice, for example in preschool or at school. FIMO is an oven-bake modeling clay (polymer clay). The FIMO Soft, FIMO Effect and FIMO Kids lines offer different colors, effects and consistencies. After hardening in the oven, pieces stay permanently firm – the usual choice for jewelry, pendants and small figures.

Air-dry clays harden in the air without an oven, can usually be painted afterwards and suit larger objects. Thick areas take longer to dry all the way through. Plasticine helps you try things out before you make a design in hardening clay.
