Rayher Styropor Disc, Ø 30 cm, 7 cm High

Rayher Styropor Disc Ø 30 cm, 7 cm High – Polystyrene Blank for Crafting and Decorating

The Styropor disc from Rayher (art. no. 3000700) is a round polystyrene blank for crafting and decorating. It has a diameter of 30 cm and is 7 cm high. That gives you a large, sturdy surface on which to push in, glue or build up decorative elements. It is also often used as a base for dummy wedding cakes.

The range comes in several diameters with a height of 4 cm or 7 cm. Choose the 7 cm disc if you want to push pins, sticks or picks in deeply, or if the board is to serve as a thick base. For flat bases, the lower version is enough.

Working with the disc

Polystyrene can be cut with a knife or a polystyrene cutter and painted with water-based acrylic paint. Adhesives and sprays containing solvents attack polystyrene and make it collapse. Test paint or glue on an inconspicuous spot first. To decorate, you can push flowers, twigs or other elements straight in or fix them with a suitable glue.

As a base for dummy cakes

For decorative cakes, place the disc as the base under the tiers and cover or decorate it as you wish. Do not place food directly on the polystyrene; use a cake board or foil in between.
