Brush set 5008 from the da Vinci FORTE SYNTHETICS range contains five brushes for acrylic and textile paints. You get two round brushes, one flat brush, one filbert and one fan brush. That covers fine details, larger areas and textures in a single set. According to da Vinci, the synthetic fibres are hard-wearing, hold their shape well, pick up paint well and give reliable control. The set is intended for decorative techniques in hobby and decorative work.

The brushes have rustproof ferrules and short, hexagonal handles in blue-green. The short handle sits comfortably in the hand when you work close to the piece, for example on miniatures or small decorative objects. According to da Vinci, the set is vegan. It is made in Germany.

Which brush for which job?

Use the two round brushes (363) for outlines, lines and small details. Size 5/0 is the finest in the set. The flat brush (364) applies paint over larger areas and gives straight edges. The filbert (365) is flat with a rounded tip and suits soft blends and curved strokes. The fan brush (465) is intended for textures such as grass or fur and for soft transitions. According to da Vinci, the series is suitable for body painting, miniature painting, model making, tabletop gaming and fabric painting. Acrylic paint also works well on stone and raw ceramic.

Brush care

Wash acrylic paint out while it is still wet, paying particular attention to the area around the ferrule. Dried paint collects there and splays the fibres. Leave the brushes to dry lying flat so that no water runs into the ferrule and the shape is kept.
