The Faber-Castell Black Edition colouring pencils in the cardboard box of 50 (art. no. 116450) are triangular pencils with a black wooden barrel and Supersoft lead. You can use them for colouring and drawing in rich, intense colour, even on dark or coloured paper.

The ergonomic triangular shape gives a secure grip. The lead is protected against breakage by a special bonding process, so it is less likely to break inside the wood if a pencil is dropped. According to the manufacturer, the wood comes from certified, sustainably managed forests (FSC). The cardboard box holds 50 pencils and, according to Faber-Castell, also includes a cardboard display stand.

What the Supersoft lead does

The soft lead releases plenty of colour and lays down an extra soft stroke. As a result, the bright colours show up well even on dark or coloured paper. On a dark ground, it is best to build up the colour in several layers rather than pressing hard once. The black wooden barrel gives the pencils a uniform look in the box and makes the colour of the lead stand out.

The Black Edition is also available in cardboard boxes of 12, 24 and 36. With 50 pencils you get the widest choice of colours for colouring pictures, drawings and larger projects, without having to buy more along the way. To sharpen them, you need a sharpener that takes triangular pencils.
