The Staedtler Mars matic 700 is a technical pen for sketches, illustrations and technical drawings. The hard chrome-plated drawing tube gives precise lines. A double seal in the cap stops the ink drying out, and the ink collector system releases the ink evenly.

You fill the pen with an ink cartridge or refill it from a bottle, so you can keep using it for a long time. Choose your line width from the options.

Working with the technical pen

The Mars matic 700 is intended for drawing paper, tracing paper and matt drafting film. Hold it as upright as possible while drawing and move it across the paper at an even speed without pressing hard. Put the cap back on firmly during every break and at the end of your work. The double seal can only work properly when the cap is closed firmly.

Which line width to choose

The triple colour coding according to ISO or DIN shows you the line width at a glance. This helps when you use several pens in different widths side by side. Fine widths suit details and hatching, broader ones suit outlines and bold lines. The width you need depends on the format and your drawing style.
