The Pelikan K24 paint box is a watercolour paint box with 24 colours on two levels and a tube of opaque white. It is designed for art lessons. With the primary colours yellow, magenta and cyan blue, you can practise colour theory as set out in the curriculum and mix all the other shades yourself.

The paint pans are replaceable and can be bought separately. When a colour runs out, you replace just that pan and do not need to buy a whole new box. The lid has mixing wells and serves as a palette, and it also has a name field for writing on. A Pelikan water box can be clipped onto the side.

The 24 colours at a glance

Level 1 and level 2 each contain twelve colours. The range runs from yellows and reds through blue and green to earth colours, black and a skin tone.

Working with the paint box

Moisten the paint pans with a wet brush and loosen the colour before transferring it to the mixing wells in the lid. For intermediate shades, mix magenta, yellow and cyan blue together. Opaque white lightens shades and gives you opaque pastel colours. Rinse the brush thoroughly when changing colour, otherwise the colours in the pans will become dirty.

Removing stains

Wash out fresh paint straight away with lukewarm water, a brush and soap. Do not use a washing machine or stain remover. Dried-on paint is hard to remove, so it is best to put a painting apron on children.
