Caran d'Ache 849 COLORMAT-X Turquoise Mechanical Pencil, 0.7 mm HB

Caran d'Ache 849 COLORMAT-X in Turquoise – Mechanical Pencil with Aluminium Barrel and Eraser

The Caran d'Ache 849 COLORMAT-X mechanical pencil in turquoise (art. no. 844.681) is a lead holder with a 0.7 mm HB graphite lead for writing, note-taking and sketching. The hexagonal aluminium barrel is light and hard-wearing, with a satin, micro-blasted finish. A hexagonal barrel feels secure in the hand and does not roll off the desk as easily. Caran d'Ache designs and makes the pencil in Switzerland.

The metal clip holds the pencil on a notebook, shirt pocket or document folder.

Lead, eraser and refills

The 0.7 mm lead is slightly thicker than a 0.5 mm lead and therefore breaks less often under firmer pressure. The HB grade gives a soft, clearly legible line for writing and sketches. The eraser sits under the push button, with a compartment for spare leads beneath it.

• Suitable refill leads have a diameter of 0.7 mm.
• For corrections, take off the push button to expose the eraser.

Turquoise or another colour?

The 849 COLORMAT-X is available in several colours, for example blue, yellow, green, pink, violet and orange. According to the manufacturer, the colours do not differ technically: barrel, lead, eraser and clip are the same, only the colour of the barrel is different.
