Caran d'Ache 849 COLORMAT-X mechanical pencil, pink, 0.7 mm

Caran d'Ache 849 COLORMAT-X in pink – mechanical pencil with aluminium barrel

The Caran d'Ache 849 COLORMAT-X in pink (art. no. 844.591) is a mechanical pencil with a 0.7 mm HB lead, suitable for notes, sketches and everyday writing. The barrel is hexagonal and made of aluminium. According to the manufacturer, it is light and hard-wearing, and the surface is satin-finished and micro-blasted. The edges of the hexagon give you a secure grip.

The pencil is designed and made in Switzerland. The clip and push button are made of metal, so you can hook the pencil onto a notebook, shirt pocket or document folder. The eraser sits under the push button, with a compartment for spare 0.7 mm leads below it.

Writing with 0.7 mm and HB

The 0.7 mm HB lead draws a slightly broader line than a 0.5 mm lead and is less likely to break under normal pressure. This helps when writing quickly and taking notes. Advance the lead with the push button by only a few millimetres: the shorter it protrudes, the lower the risk of breakage. You can make small corrections with the eraser under the button without putting the pencil down.

Choosing a colour

The 849 COLORMAT-X is also available in other colours, for example turquoise, blue, yellow, green, violet and orange. According to the manufacturer, the technology and features are the same in every colour, so you can simply choose the one you like.
