Drawing Nib with Tubular Pen Holder – Fine Lines for Calligraphy

The drawing nib with tubular pen holder is a dip pen for drawing and for calligraphy with ink. The nib is flexible and has a fine point. You can use it to draw thin lines and details, and the lines become wider with a little more pressure.

The line width is approx. 0.2–1 mm. This means you can draw fine hairlines and bolder shading strokes with a single nib, without changing it. The set includes one tubular nib (drawing nib) and the matching holder.

Working with the drawing nib

Dip only the tip of the nib into the ink and wipe off excess ink on the rim of the pot to reduce blots. For fine lines, guide the nib with light pressure; for broader strokes, press down a little harder. Practise basic strokes and letter forms on scrap paper first, before you start a piece of writing or a picture. Clean the nib after use so that no ink dries on it.
