The LYKKE Colour circular knitting needle set with 5-inch tips (127 mm) is an interchangeable wooden needle set for knitting hats, sleeves, jumpers, shawls and more. You screw the tips onto a cable of your choice, so you can put together the needle size and length to suit your project. Everything is kept in order in the grey denim case.

The set contains 12 pairs of needle tips from 3.5 to 12 mm, plus 5 transparent, memory-free cables in three lengths. Connectors, cable keys and stoppers are also included. Needle sizes are given in both US and metric, so you can work straight from patterns in either system.

Putting your needle together

Choose the needle size given in your pattern and attach one tip to each end of a cable. Tighten the join with the cable key and check it now and then so it does not work loose while you knit. For small circumferences such as hats or sleeves, use a short cable; for jumpers and larger pieces, use a longer one. With the connectors you can join two cables together if you need more length for very large projects.

Screw the stoppers onto the needle ends when you put your work down. This stops the stitches slipping off the needles. You can also park stitches on a cable without needle tips.

What the set covers

The needle sizes range from 3.5 to 12 mm, which covers many projects from fine to chunky yarn. Very fine yarns such as classic sock yarn, which is often knitted on 2 to 3 mm, call for thinner needles. The tips are 127 mm long and so comparatively compact. The case fastens with press studs and has a compartment with elastic for each pair of needles, plus a small zip pocket for accessories.
