The LYKKE Driftwood crochet hook set contains 10 crochet hooks from 3.5 to 9 mm (US 4 to US 13) in a grey denim-look case. The hooks are 6 inches (15 cm) long and have a black metal cap. The set covers many yarn weights, from fine cotton yarn to chunky wool, without your having to buy individual hooks.

The hooks are made of laminated birch wood, and the grey driftwood finish is reminiscent of beach wood. The neck is angled ("in line"). The sizes are embossed on the shaft in metric and US sizes, so you can tell which hook is which without measuring.

Which hook for which yarn?

The hook size depends on the yarn and your pattern. The ball band usually gives a guide for the hook size. Fine yarns are crocheted with the small hooks from 3.5 mm, and for thicker yarns you reach for 6.0 mm and larger. If you crochet loosely, use a smaller hook; if you crochet tightly, use a larger one. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. Please note that the set has no size between 6.5 and 8.0 mm.
