Prym Multi rotary cutter – 45 mm blade with seam allowance guide

The Prym Multi rotary cutter cuts several layers of fabric cleanly in one go, whether for sewing, patchwork or crafts. The blade has a diameter of 45 mm. With the attachable guide, you can set the seam allowance to suit you and cut it as you cut out the pieces.

Alongside the blade already fitted, the pack includes a standard blade and a pinking blade for swapping in. According to Prym, the rubberised, ergonomically shaped soft grip stays firmly in your hand even under heavy pressure. Replacement blades from Prym and OLFA fit.

Using the rotary cutter

Lay the fabric flat on a cutting mat and line it up against a ruler. Press the blade down evenly and roll it away from you along the edge in one stroke, without lifting it part-way, so that no step is left in the cut. When cutting several layers, it works best if you smooth them flat first and keep them from slipping. After cutting, cover the blade before you put the rotary cutter down.

Which blade for which job?

The standard blade cuts straight edges for cut-out pieces and patchwork shapes. The pinking blade gives a zigzag edge that frays less at the fabric edges and can also be used for decorative edges. If a blade becomes blunt or no longer cuts cleanly, swap it for one of the replacement blades.
