Prym super-fine steel pins – 500 g

The super-fine pins from Prym (art. no. 024122, No. 6 SF) are 30 mm long and just 0.50 mm thick. The slim, tapering point glides through the fabric without damaging the fibres or pulling threads, especially on silk and fine fabrics. According to Prym, this type of pin can be used on all fabrics. The pins are made of hardened steel with good rust protection and have a balanced spring hardness.

At 500 g, you have a stock for sewing classes, a tailoring business or a studio. If you only sew occasionally, a small pack is often enough: Prym also offers the same pin in a 15 g tin.

Pinning correctly

Insert the pins across the seam line, with the head towards the edge of the fabric. This makes them easy to grab as you sew, and you can pull them out before the presser foot reaches them. On delicate fabrics, it is best to pin within the seam allowance. A pincushion or a magnetic dish keeps the pins within easy reach.
