Lang Yarns Lotus – fine cashmere and cotton knitting yarn

Lang Yarns LOTUS is a fine knitting yarn made of 60% cotton and 40% cashmere for lightweight knits. Each ball weighs 25 g and has a length of approx. 200 m. That works out at around 800 m per 100 g, so the yarn is thin and suits delicate projects. Choose your colour from the options.

The cashmere content gives the yarn a soft handle. The cotton makes it a blend that suits knits that are less warm, for example shawls, light scarves or tops for spring and autumn.

What to knit with Lotus

With 3–3.5 mm needles, Lotus knits up into a fine, fluid fabric. The yarn suits lace patterns, shawls, light jumpers and tops where the piece should not be bulky. As cotton is less elastic than wool, knits made from this yarn tend to hang loosely. For pieces that need to keep their shape, it is best to choose patterns written for cotton blends.

Planning quantity and tension

Each ball weighs only 25 g. For larger pieces you will therefore need several balls; the quantity depends on the design and size in your pattern. Buy everything in one go, ideally from the same dye lot. The ball band gives 24 stitches and 38 rows over 10 × 10 cm. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide.
