YKK metal zip in antique brass, 70 cm – for jeans, trousers and bags

The YKK zip with antique brass metal teeth is made for heavier fabrics such as jeans, leather jackets and bags. It is 70 cm long with a 30 mm wide tape. It suits trousers and bags.

Metal teeth are robust and give trousers, bags and jackets a visible accent. The antique brass colour looks subdued, goes with denim blue, leather and canvas, and is less conspicuous than shiny gold. The same model 580 is also available in our range in 65 cm and 60 cm. Measure your opening beforehand and choose the length accordingly.

Sewing in the metal zip

Metal teeth need a little care when sewing. Use a strong needle, such as a jeans needle, and a zip foot so that you can sew close to the row of teeth. Do not hit the metal teeth with the needle, as it may break. Sew slowly in this area, using the handwheel if necessary. With thick seams, for example in jeans, it helps to hold the zip in place with clips rather than pins before topstitching.
