Städter liquid red food colouring – colour food drop by drop

Städter liquid food colouring in red colours cakes, biscuits, creams, whipped cream and drinks. It is highly concentrated, water-soluble and neutral in taste, and complies with food law regulations according to Städter. The red contains the colouring Cochineal Red A (E124). The colour is not suitable for chocolate.

The colour is liquid and can be dosed drop by drop. This lets you control the intensity drop by drop and add more colour if needed. The 10 ml bottle is enough for small quantities.

How to dose the colour

For a soft to delicate shade, Städter gives these guide amounts. For a more intense shade, add a few more drops as you like.

• approx. 4 drops per 125 ml of clear liquid (water, sparkling wine or similar)
• approx. 8 drops per 125 ml of cream, added before whipping
• approx. 15 drops per 125 g of marzipan with approx. 60 g of icing sugar

Use and storage

Add the colour a few drops at a time and stir well before adding more. This shows you the true colour and stops the result from becoming too dark. Store the bottle in a dark, cool, dry place. The liquid food colouring is also available in orange, pink, violet, yellow, blue, green and black. You can also mix the colours to create your own shades.
