Victorinox Farmer X Alox Pocket Knife with Scissors, 10 Functions

Victorinox Farmer X Alox – pocket knife with scissors and 10 functions

The Victorinox Farmer X Alox (art. no. 0.8271.26) is a medium-sized pocket knife with scissors and 10 functions in total for the workshop, home, garden and leisure. All the tools sit between two scales made of anodised aluminium (Alox). According to Victorinox, the knife is made in Switzerland and is 93 mm long. It gives you a blade, scissors, saw and screwdrivers in a single tool.

The large blade does not lock, and the knife cannot be opened one-handed. You open and close it with both hands.

The 10 functions of the Farmer X Alox

According to Victorinox, these tools are included:

• Large blade
• Scissors
• Wood saw
• Tin opener
• 3 mm screwdriver
• Bottle opener
• 7 mm screwdriver
• Wire stripper
• Reamer with punch
• Key ring

Which tool to use for what

Use the large blade to cut string, cardboard or fruit, for example. The scissors are suitable for thread, paper and foil. The wood saw shortens thin branches or battens, for example for craft and garden jobs. Push the reamer into leather or cardboard to make a starter hole, and use it to widen existing holes. The two screwdrivers (3 mm and 7 mm) help with small repairs. Attach the knife to the key ring if you want to keep it on a bunch of keys.

As the blade does not lock when cutting, always cut away from your body and work calmly. Use each tool only for its intended purpose: a blade is not a lever, and you should not use the screwdriver for prising.
