Victorinox Pioneer X Alox Swiss Army Knife with Scissors, 9 Functions

Victorinox Pioneer X Alox – Swiss Army Knife with Scissors and 9 Functions

The Victorinox Pioneer X Alox (0.8231.26) is a Swiss Army knife with 9 functions for the home, workshop, trades and leisure. The tools sit between two Alox scales in grey/silver. At 93 mm long and 94 g, the knife is compact enough for a trouser pocket.

According to Victorinox, the Pioneer X is the first Pioneer model with precision scissors. As well as the large blade, tin opener and bottle opener, you also get an awl and reamer and a key ring.

What each function is used for

The tools cover typical tasks when crafting, doing DIY and out and about. The scissors help with paper, foil, fabric or thread, where the blade would cut less precisely.

• Large blade: cutting paper, card, string or fruit
• Scissors: cutting thin material cleanly
• Awl and reamer: piercing and enlarging holes in leather, card or belts
• Tin opener with 3 mm screwdriver: opening tins, tightening small screws
• Bottle opener with 7 mm screwdriver: opening bottles, turning larger slotted screws
• Wire stripper: removing the insulation from thin wire or cable
• Key ring: attaching the knife to a key ring or bag

Handling notes

The blade does not lock and cannot be operated one-handed. Always cut away from your body and keep your fingers out of the cutting path. Only strip cables on wires that are not live. Screwdrivers are intended for screws, not for prising or chiselling. Wipe the knife dry after use before putting it away.
