Opinel N°07 Outdoor Junior Pocket Knife with Whistle, Khaki Orange

Opinel N°07 Outdoor Junior – Pocket Knife with Whistle and Virobloc Safety Ring

The Opinel N°07 Outdoor Junior is a pocket knife with a 7 cm stainless steel blade, a rounded tip and a built-in whistle. According to Opinel, it is designed for hiking, wild camping, picnics and water sports. The rounded blade tip sets the Junior model apart from knives with a pointed blade.

The handle is made of polymer and, according to Opinel, is water-resistant, impact-resistant and withstands extreme temperatures. It copes with wet conditions and rough handling on the go. The whistle in the handle produces 110 dB and can be used in any weather.

Using the Virobloc ring and whistle

The Virobloc safety ring locks the blade both when open and when closed. To open the knife, first turn the ring so that the blade is free. Once you have folded the blade out, turn the ring further until it locks the blade in place. Only then should you start cutting. This stops the blade from closing unintentionally. When closed, the blade stays secured if you turn the ring back to the locked position.

The whistle sits at the end of the handle and has no pea, so its sound does not depend on moisture. It works as a signal on tours or by the water.

Use and care

With the 7 cm blade, you can cut bread, fruit or sausage at a picnic, trim string or cut material to size for crafting. The rounded tip is not suitable for piercing or prying. After using the knife on or in water, rinse it, dry it and only then fold it shut.
