Opinel My first Opinel – pocket knife with round tip and belt sheath

The Opinel “My first Opinel” is a pocket knife with a belt sheath for picnics, days out in the open air, whittling and small DIY jobs. The 8 cm stainless steel blade has a round tip. According to Opinel, the wooden handle comes from sustainably managed forests.

The knife is designed for whittling together with parents or grandparents. You lock the blade with the rotating ring, both open and closed, so that it stays firmly in place while you work and when you carry it.

Using the knife

To open it, fold out the blade and turn the safety ring until the blade is held firmly. To close it, first release the ring again, then the blade can be folded away. When whittling, always cut away from your body and never place your free hand in the line of the cut. A piece of soft, dry wood is good for first attempts. The round tip reduces the risk of stab injuries, but the edge stays sharp. That is why an adult should always be present.

The belt sheath

A matching sheath is included in the set. It is made from recycled plastic bottles (100% recycled PET) and leather from leather offcuts from tanneries. You keep the knife in it when you are not using it.
