Artemio stainless steel bowl with handle – melting bowl for wax and soap base

You use the Artemio stainless steel bowl with handle to melt wax, melt and pour soap base and similar materials in a water bath. It holds 600 ml and is made of rustproof, heat-resistant stainless steel. That is enough for smaller casting projects, such as soaps, candles or wax blends.

The side handle helps you pour into the mould and keeps your hand away from the hot contents. Stainless steel is easy to clean after use, as long as the wax or soap is still warm and soft. According to Artemio, the bowl is also suitable for cosmetics, craft resin and wax blends.

Melting in a water bath

Put a pan of water on the hob and set the bowl in it so that it cannot tip over. The water should only touch the base of the bowl and must not splash into it, as even a little water can spoil soap base or wax.

• Add wax or soap base in small pieces so that it melts more evenly.
• Stay with it while heating and stir occasionally.
• The bowl and handle can get hot: use an oven glove when pouring.
• Top up the water in the pan if needed so that it does not boil dry.

After use

Wipe out any residue while it is still warm and soft, then wash the bowl with warm water and washing-up liquid. Once you have used a bowl for wax, soap or resin, do not use it for food again.
