FIMO round snow globe – blank to design yourself

The round FIMO snow globe from Staedtler (art. no. 8629 42) is a blank that you turn into your own snow globe using oven-hardening FIMO modelling clays. The cardboard box contains a round clear dome with a base and stopper, plus detailed instructions for use. It measures 86 × 75 mm.

Worth knowing before you start: you get the blank, not a finished snow globe. You model the figures and motifs yourself, for example from FIMO. According to the manufacturer, the globe suits all oven-hardening FIMO modelling clays, so you are not tied to one particular range.

Making your snow globe

Start by choosing your motif, such as a small winter landscape, a figure or a name plate. Model the pieces from oven-hardening FIMO clay and harden them as stated on the clay's packaging. Let them cool completely before assembly. The remaining steps, including filling and sealing, are described in the instructions in the box. Keep figures fairly small and flat: they must fit under the dome and stay clearly visible inside it.

The snow globe is intended for collecting and giving as a gift. Because the blank always looks the same, you can make several globes with different motifs, for example for different occasions.
