EFAPlast classic – white air-drying modelling clay with a real clay feel
EFAPlast classic from Eberhard Faber is a white, air-drying modelling clay that feels like real clay and can be used without a kiln. It is ready to use straight away and can be used for art, leisure and hobbies as well as for educational use in schools, nurseries and similar settings. With 1 kg of material, you have enough for larger objects such as vases.
The foil packaging stops the clay from drying out while you are not using it.
Working with the clay
Take only as much clay out of the foil as you are working with, and wrap the rest up airtight again. This keeps it supple. Parts that have started to dry can be made workable again with a little water. The consistency is somewhat firmer and similar to clay, so the material is also suitable for larger objects.
After drying
The clay hardens in the air, so no kiln is needed. Once dry, you can finish your models:
- Filing and sanding for smooth edges and surfaces
- Drilling, for example for hanging holes
- Painting with craft or acrylic paint
- Varnishing to seal the surface
