Orton Small Cone Breaker – separates pairs of small pyrometric cones

The Orton Small Cone Breaker (art. no. K911) separates pairs of small Orton pyrometric cones (SRB) into two single cones. Orton has supplied Small Cones in pairs since 2016, so that fewer cones break in transit. Before you place the cones in the kiln, you separate them with the breaker.

The small cones are designed for use in the Kiln-Sitter. If you work with these cones in your kiln, the breaker saves you having to separate them by hand.

How to separate a pair of cones

Place the pair of cones in the breaker with the numbers facing up and stand it on a level surface. Then press down on the open end and the two cones come apart. Work on a firm, smooth surface and press evenly from above so that the cones do not snap sideways.
