HSL Profi T-45 – electric potter's wheel with frequency converter for larger pieces

The HSL Profi T-45 is a tabletop electric potter's wheel for throwing vessels and shapes from clay. It is aimed at advanced potters and professionals. With a centring capacity of max. 45 kg and high stability, it also suits larger pieces. The motor delivers 370 watts (0.5 HP), and you control the speed steplessly up to approx. 200 rpm via the frequency converter. The maintenance-free Spiroplan gearbox provides high torque even at low speeds, so you can centre clay slowly too.

The wheel runs in either direction, clockwise or anticlockwise, which suits right- and left-handed potters. For protection it has a restart lock, so it does not start up unintentionally after a stop, as well as a thermal cut-out against overheating. If overloaded, an audible signal sounds, and a yellow LED shows that the wheel is ready for use. The HSL Profi T-45 is DGUV certified (no. RCI 18003).

Operation and safety

You control the speed with the foot pedal, which stays in place at any speed setting. You can choose between a 2-button foot pedal and a rocker foot pedal. The pedal moves freely and connects via a splash-proof plug. The built-in mains filter and the stop function are part of the electronics, and the on/off switch is on the housing.

Working at the wheel

The aluminium wheel head is corrosion-resistant and has centring grooves that help you place the lump of clay in the middle. Through its three holes it takes the wooden bat supplied. Start at a low speed, set the clay down firmly and centrally, and keep your hands and the clay well moistened. Only once the clay runs centred do you increase the speed. The splash pan catches clay slip and is easy to remove for cleaning, and you simply wipe down the powder-coated housing.
