Schmincke AKADEMIE Acryl color 60 ml Artists' Acrylic Paint

Schmincke AKADEMIE Acryl color 60 ml – cadmium-free artists' acrylic paint in a tube

AKADEMIE Acryl color from Schmincke is a fine artists' acrylic paint for beginners, students and professionals. It comes in a 60 ml aluminium tube. The range includes 60 strongly pigmented, highly lightfast colours, among them three whites and effect colours such as gold, silver and neon. All colours are formulated without cadmium pigments. Choose your colour from the options.

The paint dries completely waterproof, has a long open time and a pleasant smell. The long open time gives you time to blend transitions and work areas wet-in-wet. According to Schmincke, about two thirds of the colours are highly opaque and brilliant, while one third is transparent. So you will find suitable colours for opaque areas as well as for transparent layers.

Working with the paint

You can use the paint straight from the tube or adjust it with water or Schmincke acrylic mediums. Stretched canvases, canvas boards, acrylic painting paper and wood are all suitable painting surfaces. The surface should be clean and free from grease. Because the paint dries waterproof, wash out your brushes and palette while the paint is still wet. Dried-on residue can hardly be removed afterwards.

Mixing and choosing colours

With Primary Yellow, Primary Magenta and Primary Cyan you can mix pure secondary colours. These three colours therefore form a good basis for a small colour palette. The paint can be mixed with all other Schmincke acrylic paints, so you can combine it with colours from other ranges. The 60 ml tube is practical if you want to top up individual colours or try out new ones. Schmincke also offers AKADEMIE Acryl color in 120, 250 and 500 ml, in case you need a colour in larger quantities.
