Rayher Styropor Egg, 2-Piece – Polystyrene Blank to Decorate and Fill

The polystyrene egg from Rayher consists of two halves that push together. It serves as a blank for Easter decorations, gift packaging and small figures. You can paint it, cover it with paper, fabric, mosaic tiles or decoupage, decorate it with sequins or needle-felt it with wool roving.

Because the egg splits into two halves, you can also fill it, for example with sweets or a small gift, and then push it back together. At just over 20 cm tall, it is large enough to stand out as a centrepiece on the table.

Decorating the egg

Polystyrene reacts to solvents: they dissolve the plastic. Use water-based paints such as acrylic paint and a solvent-free glue. It is best not to use a hot glue gun, as the heat melts the material. For needle felting, use the felting needle to prick wool roving into the surface until it holds firmly.

Filling

The inside dimensions of 177 × 115 mm give you a guide to what will fit. Decorate both halves first and let the paint or glue dry completely. Then fill the egg and push the halves together.
