Proxxon MICROMOT NG 2/E power supply – 12 V with variable speed control

The Proxxon MICROMOT NG 2/E power supply (no. 28707) runs MICROMOT drilling and milling tools from a mains socket and adjusts the speed continuously. It delivers 2 A at 12 V operating voltage (16 V off load). The housing is made of NORYL, a particularly heat-resistant plastic approved for transformers. A red LED shows that the power supply is ready for use.

The speed control works with a feedback effect: you get speeds suited to the job and high torque even in the lower speed range. This helps with fine milling and engraving, where you work at low speed without the tool stalling straight away.

Connection and handling

You plug your MICROMOT tool into the socket; the reverse polarity protection prevents the plug from being connected the wrong way round. When you pause, place the tool in the side rest, so it has a fixed place next to the power supply. You can keep bits and accessories within reach in the holes in the housing.

Overload protection and choosing the right model

If the power supply is overloaded, the PTC protection switches it off. Take the load off the tool, let the power supply cool down and briefly pull out the mains plug before you carry on working. Pay attention to the variant when buying: the NG 2/S (no. 28706) has no electronic speed control. You need the NG 2/E if you want to set the speed continuously on the power supply. The drilling and milling tools shown are not included.

If the PTC overload protection has tripped, the connected tool does not restart automatically. After cooling down, the mains plug must be briefly pulled out.
