Artemio wooden advent calendar with 24 drawers, 39 × 39 cm

Artemio wooden advent calendar – 24 drawers to decorate yourself

The wooden advent calendar from Artemio (art. no. 14001541) is the base for your own calendar: you decorate it yourself and fill the 24 small drawers with sweets or little gifts. You can paint it with acrylic paints, stick things onto it or decorate it with decoupage. At 39 × 39 × 6.2 cm, it is about the size of a wall picture.

The calendar is reusable. You can refill it every year and decorate it differently if you wish.

Decorating the calendar

Start by painting the frame and the drawer fronts with acrylic paints, letting each coat dry thoroughly. For decoupage, stick on napkin motifs or paper and seal them with varnish. Apply only a thin layer of paint to the edges and the guiding surfaces of the drawers, otherwise they will stick after drying. Only slide the drawers back in once everything is completely dry.

Filling and displaying

Each of the 24 drawers holds small surprises, for example sweets, jewellery or small craft items. You can stick on, stamp or paint the numbers for the doors, for instance. Lettering or a wintry scene on the frame would also work.
