da Vinci GRIGIO Series 7795 – round brush for details and fine lines
The da Vinci GRIGIO round brush, series 7795, is an artist's brush for oil and acrylic paints. The round tip suits details, lines and smaller areas. The synthetic fibres are slightly roughened, so they hold plenty of paint. They release it evenly, which gives you good control over the stroke. The brush can also be used with gouache.
The brush has a silver ferrule and a long, hexagonal handle in burgundy. The long handle lets you work at a little distance from the canvas or painting paper. Choose the size from the options.
Working with the round brush
Pick up only a little paint and wipe the brush on the edge of the palette so that the tip stays fine. For thin lines, work with the tip and light pressure; for broader strokes, press down a little harder so that the fibres fan out. Because the roughened fibres hold a lot of paint, a small amount is often enough for a long stroke. Clean the brush straight after painting: acrylic paint dries in the fibres and then can hardly be removed.
Which size should you choose?
Small numbers give narrow strokes for details, outlines and small formats. Larger numbers cover broader lines and smaller areas. For fine lines and for areas, it is best to combine two sizes.
