Marabu 3D Liner – velvety relief effect paint

The 3D Liner from Marabu is a velvety, water-based effect paint that you apply straight from the liner bottle. Use it to draw raised lines, dots and ornaments on paper, card, wood, ceramics, glass and fabric, for example on greetings cards, T-shirts, tote bags, cushions or decorations. The paint has a low odour and is applied directly from the nozzle, with no brush needed. Choose your colour from the options.

How to use

• Prepare a clean, dust-free surface. Wash new textiles beforehand without fabric softener, so that finishing agents and softener are washed out.
• Shake the liner well before use.
• On fabric, press the nozzle lightly into the weave and guide it evenly.
• Leave the paint to dry completely.
• Then fix textiles by ironing or in the oven. When ironing, the iron must not touch the paint directly – place a thin cotton cloth in between.

The paint is only washable on textiles once it has been fixed.

Avoiding common mistakes

Practise your line control and pressure first on a piece of paper or a fabric scrap to get a feel for the line thickness. A thicker application strengthens the relief effect and makes the decoration more wash-resistant on textiles; very thin lines look flat. Only fix once the paint has dried right through. For shirts and bags, place a piece of card between the layers of fabric so the paint does not soak through to the back. Wipe the nozzle after use and close the bottle firmly so that no paint dries in the nozzle.
