Staedtler Pigment Liner 308 – black fineliner with archival pigment ink
The Staedtler Pigment Liner 308 is a black fineliner for writing, sketching and drawing. Line widths range from 0.05 to 2.0 mm; choose your line width from the options. According to Staedtler, the pigment ink is indelible to ISO 14145-2, lightfast and waterproof on paper. Writing and drawings therefore stay legible and do not run if they get damp later.
The long metal tip is designed for use with rulers and stencils, so you can draw precise lines. The robust barrel is made of polypropylene. Thanks to automatic pressure equalisation, the pen is aeroplane-safe and does not leak in your luggage.
Which line width to choose
The fine widths are intended for details, hatching and small lettering. Medium widths suit outlines and notes, and the broad ones up to 2.0 mm suit bold lines and headings. For technical drawings and sketches you often combine two or three widths so that main and secondary lines remain distinguishable.
Working with the Pigment Liner
The long metal tip can be guided along a ruler or stencil. Because the pigment ink is waterproof, you can colour finished lines with watercolour or markers once they are dry, without the ink running. Do not wipe over the line while the ink is drying, or it will smear. Put the cap back on after writing, because even with CAP OFF it remains the best protection for the tip.
