Wedo 18 mm Craft Knife – Softgrip Handle, Lockable Snap-Off Blade

The Wedo craft knife with an 18 mm wide blade cuts paper, card, film and similar materials in the workshop, office and hobby room. The blade can be locked, so it stays firmly in place while you cut. The handle has a grey Softgrip finish.

When the blade goes blunt, you snap off a single segment from the side and carry on cutting with a fresh edge. Two spare blades are already stored in the handle, so you have replacements to hand.

Working with the snap-off blade

Push the blade out only as far as you need for the cut, then lock it. This keeps it stable and less likely to flex. Cut on a cutting mat, along a metal ruler for straight cuts, and guide the knife away from your body. Several light cuts in succession give a cleaner, safer result than a single hard press.

Sharpening and changing the blade

If the cut becomes ragged or the material tears, the front segment is blunt. Snap it off from the side so that a sharp edge is at the front. The broken-off piece is very sharp, so do not throw it away loose; dispose of it well wrapped. Once all the segments are used up, take one of the two spare blades from the handle.
