Faber-Castell Grip 1345 Mechanical Pencil 0.5 mm, Stone Grey

Faber-Castell Grip 1345 – 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with rubber grip and eraser

The Faber-Castell Grip 1345 is a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with B lead for fine writing and drawing. The rubberised grip zone makes it comfortable to write with, and the barrel is finished in stone grey.

The lead is spring-mounted and slides back into the pencil if you press too hard while writing, so it is less likely to break. At the push of a button you can retract the tip completely, so the pencil is safe to carry in a pocket. A twist-out eraser sits in the end cap, and the metal clip holds the pencil on a notebook or pocket.

Which line width and lead grade suit you?

With 0.5 mm you write finely and can produce small handwriting or sketches cleanly. Grade B is soft and gives a dark, easy-to-read line. Soft leads wear down faster, so turn the pencil occasionally as you write to keep the tip even. If leads break often when you write, the 0.7 mm version from the same series is more robust. The Grip 1345 is also available in 4 barrel colours.
