Marabu Porcelain & Glass Marker – 2–4 mm universal tip for areas and designs
The Marabu Porcelain & Glass Marker with universal tip (line width Ø 2–4 mm) is a paint pen for decorating porcelain, glass and other smooth surfaces. The ink is highly pigmented, water-based, odourless and lightfast. According to Marabu, the rich paint application gives a brush-like feel. The 2–4 mm tip is particularly suited to filling in areas, for example patterns on cups, plates, vases or glasses.
Choose your colour from the options. As well as porcelain and glass, you can also paint metal, mirrors, ceramic, terracotta and stone, according to Marabu. After baking, the design is dishwasher safe up to 50 °C.
How to use
The surface must be free of dust and grease, otherwise the paint will not adhere as well. Then work in this order:
- Clean and degrease the porcelain or glass, and do not touch the surface to be painted with your fingers afterwards.
- Apply the design or fill the area with the marker.
- Leave the paint to air-dry for 4 hours.
- Bake in the oven at 160 °C for 30 minutes, then leave to cool in the oven.
Notes on tableware and storage
On cups, mugs and glasses, paint only the outside and leave the rim free: rims and cutting surfaces are not intended for direct contact with food. Store the marker lying flat so that the ink reaches the tip evenly. For finer lines and outlines, Marabu also offers markers with thinner tips in the series; the 2–4 mm universal tip is intended for areas and bold strokes.
