Proxxon HKP/A cordless hot glue gun – glue without a cable at 135–170 °C

The Proxxon HKP/A cordless hot glue gun (art. no. 28190) takes glue sticks 7 mm in diameter and works with no cable on the tool. You can use it to bond metal, wood, plastic, glass, ceramic, earthenware, cardboard, leather, foams and textiles. According to the manufacturer, the nozzle reaches 135–170 °C and is heated up after approx. 40 seconds. Depending on the material and the amount applied, the glue sets after approx. 30 seconds. Until then you can still adjust the parts, an advantage over superglue.

The Li-ion battery (3.6 V, 2 Ah) is built into the tool. You charge it in approx. 1 hour via micro-USB using the plug-in power supply and USB charging cable supplied. The battery is not fully charged on delivery, so charge it before first use. You can top it up at any time. According to Proxxon, the battery life is sufficient for larger projects. After 5 minutes without use, the tool switches itself off automatically.

Working with the HKP/A

Use the feed lever to push the glue stick forward by hand with a light touch and so control the amount of glue.

• Charge the battery, insert the glue stick from the back and let the nozzle heat up.
• Apply the glue in dots. On flexible materials you can also apply it in a wavy line.
• Join the parts and, if needed, adjust them within the approx. 30 seconds setting time.
• To put the gun down, pull out the stand. The heat insulation on the nozzle protects you when guiding the tool.

What is it used for?

The 7 mm glue sticks are particularly suited to fine work such as model making, toy making, dried flowers and jewellery making. Because the tool has no mains cable, you can also move freely around larger workpieces while gluing. To clean it, use a soft cloth or a brush. Do not use cleaners containing solvents or alcohol.

The nozzle and glue reach 135–170 °C: do not touch them, as there is a risk of burns. Drops of glue may escape even after switching off. Never put the tool down on a flammable surface and let it cool down completely before storing it. Wear eye protection. Children aged 8 and over and people with reduced abilities may only use the tool under supervision or after instruction. Children must not play with it. Children must not clean or maintain the tool without supervision. Charge the tool only with the charger supplied and use it only in dry rooms. The charger is a class II device. The tool must not be disposed of with household waste: waste electrical equipment and batteries must be collected separately.
