UHU XL LOW MELT Glue Gun – Hot Melt Gluing at a Low Temperature

The UHU XL LOW MELT 110 °C glue gun is a low-temperature glue gun for hot melt gluing of wood, metal, glass, ceramic, leather and textiles. You can also use it on heat-sensitive materials such as polystyrene and soft PVC. The XL version is larger than the standard LOW MELT glue gun. The glue is solvent-free, the nozzle is heat-insulated and the adhesive is easy to dose.

The gun works at approx. 110 °C. That is considerably lower than conventional hot glue guns, which reach over 200 °C. It is therefore the better choice when foams or plastics must not be deformed during gluing. The gun is not suitable for PE, PP and PTFE. It is designed exclusively for the oval UHU LOW MELT 110 °C glue sticks. Standard round hot glue sticks do not fit.

Gluing with the low-temperature gun

Insert an oval glue stick, plug in the gun and leave it to heat up for approx. 3–5 minutes. The surfaces to be bonded should be dry and free of dust and grease, otherwise the bond will be weaker. Apply the adhesive to one surface and join the parts straight away, as the hot melt adhesive sets quickly. With polystyrene or soft PVC, do a short test on an offcut first.

Why choose the XL version?

The XL gun is larger than the standard LOW MELT glue gun. It is worthwhile if you are gluing larger surfaces or many parts in a row, for example when crafting, decorating or making models. For materials that are not heat-sensitive, any hot glue gun will often do; the strength of this gun lies in sensitive materials.
