Sewing on the handles

Lay the handles on the bag in the position you want and measure to check that both sides sit the same distance from the edge and from each other. When the bag is carried, most of the strain falls on the attachment point, so it is worth stitching there several times and reinforcing the bag fabric on the inside with interfacing or a piece of fabric.
