Prym Purse Clasp 85 mm – Sew-in Bag Clasp for Purses and Cases

The Prym snap clasp 85 mm (art. no. 615176) is a bag clasp for sewing into a channel, for example for purses, make-up bags, clutches and cases. According to Prym, the hinged mechanism has neatly finished joints and is easy to work with.

When open, the clasp holds the bag open and gives it shape, so you can reach the contents easily. When closed, it stays firmly shut thanks to its spring tension. Glasses cases are the classic use.

Fitting the clasp

The clasp is not riveted or pressed on, but sewn into a channel that you make at the bag opening. Before cutting out, measure the length of 8.5 cm and plan the channel to match. Illustrated instructions are on the back of the packaging.

Which length to choose

At 8.5 cm, this clasp suits smaller projects such as purses, cases or make-up bags. For larger bags, Prym also makes a snap clasp with a length of 30 cm.
