Beadalon 49-strand jewellery wire – flexible and kink-resistant for beaded necklaces

Beadalon 49-strand beading wire (art. no. JW10T-0) is a jewellery wire for stringing beads and gemstones, for example for bracelets and necklaces. 49 fine stainless steel strands are twisted together and surrounded by a nylon coating. This makes the wire soft with a good drape, while also being resistant to abrasion and kinking. The surface is bright and shiny, and the colour looks metallic silver-grey.

With a diameter of 0.38 mm and 9.2 m on the spool, you can plan several pieces of jewellery without having to reorder in between.

Stringing a necklace

Cut the wire with side cutters, not scissors, so that the individual strands are cut cleanly. Allow about 5 to 8 cm extra at each end for the clasps. First thread on a crimp bead and the clasp, pass the wire back through the crimp bead and form a small loop. Squeeze the crimp bead flat with crimping pliers. Then thread on the beads. Finish the other end in the same way. Leave a little slack between the beads and the crimp bead so that the necklace lies softly.

Which beads suit this wire?

The bead hole must be larger than 0.38 mm. If the wire is to pass a second time through the last beads to finish, the hole needs correspondingly more room. The wire suits beads and gemstones with a suitable hole.
