Rico Design Two-Bead Pin – Fastener for Knitted and Sewn Items
The Rico Design two-bead pin is a double pin that fastens hand-knitted or hand-sewn pieces such as a scarf, shawl or waistcoat. You remove one of the two balls, push the pin through your work and put the ball back on. Choose your colour from the options.
The pin replaces a button and buttonhole: you need neither needle nor thread, and you can choose the position of the fastening freely.
Using the pin
The pin holds the pieces together at the point where you push it through. Here is how:
- Lay the pieces to be held together on top of one another.
- Remove one of the two balls from the pin.
- Push the pin through both layers. With knitting, it is best to go between the stitches so that no stitches are pulled out and no threads are cut.
- Put the ball back on – the fastening is secure.
What it is suited to
At 65 mm long with balls of approx. Ø 15 mm, the pin also adds a visible accent. It suits scarves, shawls and waistcoats that you want to fasten without buttons and buttonholes. The length determines how many layers you can fasten: with very chunky knitting or several layers on top of one another, check beforehand that the pin reaches through.
